                                   WEST COAST SWING WORKSHOPS - LEVEL II 

LEVEL II - IMPROVER.  Must know push break, left side pass, underarm turn, and basic whip patterns.

8:00 pm - 10:00 pm**   OPEN DANCING (doors open 7:55 pm for dance-only attendees)

1. *Every 3rd Wednesday of the month the SwingEtc Team takes a break.  Instead of teaching and DJ-ing - we host local instructors Jan & Chris Sparling for COUNTRY 2 STEP!  Marilyn Ferry DJs.
   

2. *Once you enter the Aqua Club premises, you are in the Swing Etc ‘dance studio’.  The Club’s dance floor is adjacent to the bar area, allowing you to see and hear the instructors as they conduct the workshop.  Due to the space constraints (our inability to teach lessons in private), we ask dancers who plan NOT to take our lessons, to wait until doors open at 7:55 pm for open dancing.   Feel free to use the restrooms or purchase a drink to take outside until the open dancing starts.  Those coming to see us for the first time, return dancers curious to see what we’re teaching, or those who want to escape the outside elements, are welcome to stay and ‘audit’ the workshop for the combined $7 fee. All Swing Etc dancers and their guests are required to sign in to participate.

       CHICAGO’S ‘MAY I HAVE THIS DANCE’ NINO DiGIULIO AND DAWN LARA

                                         SATURDAY,  May 5, 2012 and SUNDAY, May 6, 2012

NINO DiGIULIO

One of the most accomplished and respected social dance instructors in the US, Nino is the Founder and Executive Director of May I Have This Dance Inc, a dance school based in Chicago, with outreach throughout the United States and Internationally.   Teaching social Ballroom, Latin, and Salsa professionally since 1995, he is most well-known and sought after for his in-depth, technical, yet fun and creative way of teaching West Coast Swing and Hustle.  An All-Star and Champion dancer himself, Nino has trained numerous other dancers who rapidly rose to the level of Advanced, All-Star, and Champion dancers.  Chicago, and the Midwest, is quickly becoming a hotbed for West Coast Swing and Hustle thanks in large-part to Nino, the May I Have This Dance staff, and their students.  Drawing on his background as a Corporate Trainer and Motivational Speaker, as well as his Masters Degree in Education, Nino has created the most comprehensive social dance curriculum ever available. 

Nino has taught over 10,000 lessons, workshops, and seminars.  Just as comfortable in front of a crowd of thousands, or in a private one-on-one session, Nino’s students rave about his ability to diagnose trouble-spots and get students to take their dancing to higher levels quickly.  As a dancer, he is known for his musicality, groove, smoothness, ability to dance to all types of music, and taking care of his partners.

DAWN LARA

Dawn is a Senior-Instructor at May I Have This Dance Inc, an Advanced-level competitor on the national West Coast Swing circuit and Champion level on the Hustle circuit.  She has won or consistently placed near the top of several major J&J and Strictly Hustle & Swing competitions, including Professional Triple Threat (WCS, Hustle, & Salsa) with Nino.  An inspiring dancer, she has a very loyal following of students that adore her warm and endearing style of teaching as well as her ability to make learning to dance fun and successful for anyone.
